Welcome to Listuguj Community Healthy Services (LCHS). At Health Services, we provide services and programs, which contribute towards building a strong and healthy community.
At Health Services we have two goals: Community Wellness and Safety. We promote healthy living for all community members, with a strong concentration towards the youth and elder populations. In the coming years, we will focus on three health priorities:
- Chronic illnesses
- Mental health
- Addictions
To meet the growing demand for excellence in management practices, the LCHS Directorate is working towards achieving accreditation in line with Canada’s Effective Organization Standards.
Working together, and with your involvement, we will continue our journey towards a healthy and safe community.

About Us
Listuguj Community Health Services is working towards the goals of Community Wellness and Safety.
Listuguj Health Centre
To achieve our goals in health, we work collaboratively with other LMG Directorates and with organizations in Listuguj.
As well, to support our delivery of health care programs and services, we have established partnerships with health service organizations in our region, including: CLSC, Centre L’Escale, First Nation of Quebec & Labrador Health and Social Services Commission, Gesgapegiaq Health and Social Services, Addiction Services (New Brunswick), Regie Regional Gaspe, and Health Canada.
Mandate
The Listuguj Community Health Services under the leadership of the Director of Health along with their affiliate (Health liaison to Chief and Band Council), plan to work towards achieving their vision by providing culturally appropriate programs and services that are fully accountable and completely transparent to Listuguj community members.
Mission
Develop and deliver health services based on Mi’gmaq peoples’ traditional understanding and approach to health. In this way, a respectful and supportive environment is created between staff, community and the LMG.
Vision
The Vision for the Listuguj Community Health Service is to:
- Maintain and improve the holistic well-being of all Listuguj community members;
- Foster health values and traditions by recognizing and respecting our similarities and differences;
- Support and work with other Mi’gmaq and other First Nation communities in developing a common vision of health and well-being of all First Nation people.
