Finance
The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government’s Finance Directorate oversees the day-to-day financial affairs for the community of Listuguj by monitoring the funding agreements and expenditures for all of the eight LMG Directorates. Finance also prepares for Council approval an annual operating and capital budget. Our fiscal year end is March 31.
Our total community revenues are just over $ 40 million annually. At Finance, we track costs on a department level and also individually for the 186 individual programs and services delivered by the Directorates.
Finance reports directly to the Finance Committee as required, Chief and Council quarterly. We also publish an annual report audited by independent auditors for Chief and Council and the community of Listuguj.
Our mandate is to provide day-to-day financial management of the affairs of the LMG and to implement the financial guidelines approved by the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government or as required by our funding agreements.
